Choosing the correct hat size is important part of purchasing your Pachacuti hat. You do not want a hat that is too small and rides high upon your head or one that is too large that will fall down over your ears. A properly fitted hat sits lightly upon the head, yet feel secure to wear. See our hat size guide below for the perfect fit.
Heads come in all shapes and sizes and there is no such thing as an average hat size. It is important that customers are confident that they are ordering a hat that will fit them well. The available sizes for our different Panama styles are clearly indicated on each style. Follow the hat size guide below to find the perfect fit, but do not worry if you do not get it right the first time. We offer Free Returns and Exchanges, ensuring you will find the perfectly fitted hat to suit your head.
Hats size is usually generally measured in one of three different sizing scales; British, North American or European/Metric.
British hat sizes are given in an imperial measurement of the diameter of the head in inches. Sizes usually range from 6 1/2 to 8. North American hats use the imperial scale however measurements are an eighth of an inch larger than British hats for the same size hat. European hat sizes use the metric sizing standard which is a measure of head circumference given in centimeters. Metric sizes usually range from 52 – 64.
Pachacuti’s range of Panama and Felt hats use the metric or European sizing standard and thus when ordering Panama hats from Pachacuti it is best to give your hat size in centimeters. A conversion chart is given below to convert from British or North American imperial sizes to metric.
To calculate your metric (European) hat size a measurement of the head circumference should be taken in centimeters. This is best achieved by passing a cloth tape measure around the head. Alternatively a piece of string may be used and measured against a ruler or tape measure.
It is important that this measurement is taken where a hat would normally rest.
To take a measurement position the tape measure or string so that it rests just above the brow at the front of the head and resting approximately 1 cm about the top of the ears at the side. Pull the tape so that is taut but not too tight and take a measurement.
Hats are sized to the nearest whole centimeter. We advise you size up if your head falls between two measurements.
The way a hat is worn is obviously dependent upon personal taste so this suggestion is only offered as a guide. If you already own a Panama hat then you can measure around the inside of the hat at the point where the crown meets the brim.

You want shoes that feel lovely and fit like slippers. Pachacuti shoes are made from handwoven, soft leather that adapts to the shape of your foot. We recommend a reasonably, snug and comfortable fit at first and then letting the shoe loosen as you wear them. The leather will quickly relax and conform perfectly to your foot.
We consciously source materials for their contribution to a more sustainable design
aesthetic, which appreciates both their natural beauty, as well as their environmental
impact throughout the lifecycle of our products.
